Jaasiel

Jaasiel (meaning God's work) is the name of two men. (1.) A Mesobaite, one of David's mighty men listed in 1 Chronicles 11:47. (2.) The son of Abner, who was appointed leader of the tribe of Benjamin in David's administrative organization (1 Chr. 27:21). The name expresses the conviction that God himself is at work in the lives of his people — a sentiment common to many Hebrew theophoric names from the period of the united monarchy.
