Jachan

Name meaning: "wearing out; oppressing"
Jachan (meaning wearing out; oppressing) was a Gadite chief listed among the heads of family clans in 1 Chronicles 5:13. He belonged to the trans-Jordan settlement of Gad in the territory of Gilead and Bashan, one of the leaders of the tribe whose genealogy is recorded alongside accounts of their warfare against the Hagrites and their settlement east of the Jordan. No further narrative details about Jachan are preserved in Scripture.
