Jahaziel

Jahaziel (meaning seeing God; beheld by God) is most significantly a Levite of the sons of Asaph who received a prophetic word from the Spirit of the LORD when Jehoshaphat's prayer sought deliverance from a vast coalition of Moabites and Ammonites: "Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's" (2 Chr. 20:14–17). Acting on the prophecy, Jehoshaphat sent singers before the army praising God; when they arrived at the battleground, the enemy coalition had already destroyed one another. This Jahaziel was a Levitical prophet in the tradition of prophetic music and intercession. Other men named Jahaziel appear in the lists of Benjaminite warriors who joined David (1 Chr. 12:4) and in post-exilic registers (Ezra 8:5).
