Jahzerah

Jahzerah was a priest listed among those who settled in Jerusalem after the return from Babylonian exile (1 Chr. 9:12), a descendant of Immer through Meshullam and Meshillemith. He served in the restored temple community. The parallel list in Nehemiah 11:13 gives the name as Ahasai or Ahzai, a variant form. He represents the continuity of priestly families across the exile — the same family lines serving in the temple before and after the Babylonian captivity.
