Jakim
Name
Name meaning: "rising; confirming; establishing"
Jakim (meaning rising; confirming; establishing) is the name of two men. (1.) A son of Shimei, a Benjaminite (1 Chr. 8:19). (2.) The head of the twelfth course of priests in David's organization of temple worship (1 Chr. 24:12). As with many of the priestly names in Chronicles, Jakim appears only in the administrative lists and plays no further narrative role in the biblical text.
