Jediael

Name

Name meaning: "the science, or knowledge, of God"

Jediael (meaning the science or knowledge of God) is the name of three men in the Old Testament. (1.) A son of Benjamin (1 Chr. 7:6, 10–11) whose family was reckoned among the mighty men of valor. (2.) A Manassehite warrior who deserted Saul and joined David at Ziklag (1 Chr. 12:20). (3.) A son of Shimri, one of David's mighty men (1 Chr. 11:45). The name reflects a theological conviction that true knowledge — the kind that matters — is knowledge of God, a theme common in biblical wisdom and covenant literature.
