Jeziel
Jeziel was a Benjamite warrior, son of Azmaveth, who joined David at Ziklag during his time as a fugitive from Saul (1 Chronicles 12:3). He and his brother Pelet are listed among the skilled warriors from Benjamin who could shoot arrows and use the sling with either hand and who came to David "while he still kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish."
Jeziel is one of many minor figures in the list of David's early supporters preserved in 1 Chronicles 12, a passage that documents the gradual formation of David's military strength during the years before he became king. These Benjamite supporters are theologically notable because they came from Saul's own tribe — their loyalty to David over Saul represents the recognition that God's anointing had shifted.
