Jotham

Jotham (meaning: the perfection of the Lord) is the name of two men in the Old Testament. The more prominent is Jotham son of Uzziah (Azariah), who served first as co-regent when his father was struck with leprosy and then reigned as sole king of Judah for sixteen years. He is commended for personal righteousness, building work on Jerusalem's wall and the Upper Gate of the temple, and military success against the Ammonites — though the high places were not removed during his reign. The other Jotham was the youngest son of Gideon who escaped Abimelech's slaughter, delivered the famous fable of the trees choosing a king, and pronounced a curse on the men of Shechem for their treachery.
