Jozabad

Person

Jozabad is the name of at least ten different individuals in the Old Testament, reflecting the name's popularity in the post-Davidic period. Among the most notable: two Manassite chiefs who deserted to David before the battle of Jezreel, a Levite who assisted in distributing the holy offerings during Hezekiah's reform, a chief of the Levites who helped oversee the rebuilding of the temple in Nehemiah's time, and several priests and laymen who had taken foreign wives and dissolved the marriages during Ezra's reform.
