Julia

Julia (meaning: downy; soft and tender hair) was a Christian woman in Rome greeted by Paul at the close of his letter to the Romans, mentioned alongside Philologus. She may have been the wife or sister of Philologus. The name Julia was extremely common in the Roman world, being associated with the imperial Julian clan, and its presence in a list of Roman Christians reflects the cosmopolitan character of the early church at Rome, which included people of both slave and free status.
