Junia

Junia (meaning: youth) is a woman, or possibly a man named Junias, greeted by Paul in Romans 16:7 alongside Andronicus as a fellow Jew, a kinsman, and a fellow prisoner who was "well known among the apostles." The phrase "among the apostles" may mean that Andronicus and Junia were notable within the apostolic circle, or that the apostles held them in high regard. If Junia is a woman, the reference has been significant in discussions of women's roles in the earliest church, as the name was commonplace in the Roman world and exclusively feminine in attested usage.
