Madmenah

Madmenah was a town in the territory of Benjamin, mentioned in Isaiah 10:31 in the prophet's vivid description of the advancing Assyrian army's march toward Jerusalem from the north: "Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee." The passage (Isaiah 10:28–32) traces the army's route through a string of Benjaminite towns — Aiath, Migron, Michmash, Geba, Ramah, Gibeah, Nob — each mentioned as a stage in the terrifying advance that would bring the conqueror to the very gate of Jerusalem.

Madmenah's precise location is uncertain; it lay north of Jerusalem in Benjamin, possibly near the modern Shu'afat. The verse in Isaiah has been taken as describing either a literal Assyrian campaign under Sennacherib (701 BC) or a later invasion, and the geographic specificity of the march route suggests an eyewitness or carefully informed literary depiction.
