Mash

Person Name

Name meaning: "same as Meshech"

Mash (meaning drawn out) was one of the sons of Aram, the son of Shem, listed in the table of nations in Genesis 10:23. He is called Meshech in the parallel genealogy of 1 Chronicles 1:17, and scholars have associated him with peoples of the region between Mesopotamia and the Taurus Mountains, possibly the Mashu mountains known from Assyrian sources. As a figure in the table of nations, Mash represents one of the clans descended from Noah through the Semitic line, but no further narrative details are preserved in Scripture.
