Mattanah
Place
Mattanah was a station in Israel's wilderness journey, mentioned between Beer and Nahaliel in the itinerary of Numbers 21:18–19 as the Israelites moved through Moabite territory toward the plains of Moab. The name means a gift and may be connected with the well of Beer, where the people sang a song celebrating the gift of water (Numbers 21:17). Its precise location in the Moabite highlands has not been identified with certainty.
