Me-jarkon
Place
Me-jarkon (meaning the waters of Jarkon or yellowish water) was a place on the border of Dan's territory in the coastal region near Joppa, mentioned in Joshua 19:46. It is identified with the Nahr el-Auja (the Yarkon River), which flows westward into the Mediterranean north of Joppa. The river formed a natural boundary feature and its waters gave the area its name. Dan's territory in this region was never fully settled, as the tribe was unable to dispossess the Amorites and eventually migrated north (Judges 1:34–35; 18).
