Mehetabeel

Mehetabeel was the grandfather of Shemaiah, the false prophet hired by Sanballat and Tobiah to frighten Nehemiah into fleeing to the temple — a plot intended to discredit him before the people (Nehemiah 6:10–14). The name means how good is God or benefited by God. Mehetabeel himself plays no active role in the narrative; only his grandson's treachery is recorded.
