Mehunims
Person
The Mehunims (also Mehunim or Meunim) were a people of Arabia whom Uzziah king of Judah subdued in his campaigns east of the Jordan (2 Chronicles 26:7). A contingent of them also appears in the census of returning exiles under Zerubbabel among the Nethinim — temple servants — (Ezra 2:50; Nehemiah 7:52), suggesting that some had been taken as captives and assigned to temple service. They may be related to the inhabitants of Maon in Edom, east of Petra.
