Melchi

Melchi (meaning my king or my counsel) is the name of two ancestors of Jesus in Luke's genealogy. One Melchi was the son of Janna and father of Levi, appearing in the list at Luke 3:24. Another Melchi was the son of Addi and father of Neri, appearing at Luke 3:28. Both occupy positions in the long Lukan lineage tracing Jesus's descent through David and the patriarchs to Adam and to God.
