Meni

Meni (meaning fate or fortune) appears in Isaiah 65:11 as a pagan deity worshipped by apostate Israelites: "But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for Gad, and that furnish the drink offering unto Meni." Meni — the deity of fate or fortune — was apparently worshipped alongside Gad (a deity of luck) in syncretistic ceremonies that God condemns as a fundamental betrayal of the covenant. The same passage goes on to announce divine judgment on those who abandoned the LORD for such fortune-cults.
