Micha

Person Name

Name meaning: "same as Micaiah"

Micha (a variant of Micah, meaning who is like God?) was the name of several minor figures in the Old Testament genealogies and lists. The most notable was Micha son of Mephibosheth (Merib-baal), the grandson of Jonathan and great-grandson of King Saul (2 Samuel 9:12), who is listed with a family of descendants in 1 Chronicles 8:35. Another Micha was among the Levites who sealed Nehemiah's covenant (Nehemiah 10:11), and a third was an ancestor of a family of Asaphite temple singers (Nehemiah 11:17, 22).
