Michmethah
Place Name
Name meaning: "the gift or death of a striker"
Michmethah was a place on the border between Ephraim and Manasseh, mentioned in the boundary descriptions of Joshua 16:6 and 17:7. It lay east of Shechem and served as a landmark for both tribal territories. The exact location is uncertain; some scholars identify it with Khirbet Julejil or another site near modern Nablus (ancient Shechem). Its significance in the text is purely geographical — a fixed reference point for delineating the complex tribal boundaries of central Canaan.
