Middin

Middin (meaning judgment) was a town in the wilderness district of Judah listed among the six cities in that barren region in Joshua 15:61. It was located somewhere in the Judean wilderness west of the Dead Sea, in the general vicinity of En-gedi and Secacah. The exact site has not been positively identified, though some scholars associate it with a ruin near the northwestern shore of the Dead Sea. Like the other wilderness towns of Judah, Middin was likely a small settlement servicing trade and pasture in an arid landscape.
