Mishmannah

Mishmannah (meaning fatness or strength) was one of the Gadite warriors who crossed the Jordan to join David at Ziklag during the period when Saul was still king (1 Chr. 12:10). These Gadites are described in striking terms: their faces were like lions' faces, and they were as swift as gazelles on the mountains (1 Chr. 12:8). Mishmannah is listed fourth in the roll of honor, ranked among the chiefs or commanders of his band. His joining David at a time of political danger illustrates the gathering of military support that eventually led to David's unchallenged kingship over all Israel. Beyond this genealogical and military notice, nothing further is recorded of him in Scripture.
