Moza

Moza (meaning a going forth) is the name of two individuals in the genealogical records of Chronicles. The first was a son of Caleb by his concubine Ephah (1 Chr. 2:46), listed among the descendants of Judah. The second, and more prominently situated, was a descendant of King Saul through Jonathan and Merib-baal (Mephibosheth), listed in the genealogy of Benjamin as the son of Zimri and the father of Binea (1 Chr. 8:36–37; 9:42–43). This second Moza's inclusion in the Saulide lineage through Jonathan is significant because it traces the surviving royal line of Saul's house for several generations after the dynasty's end, demonstrating that Jonathan's descendants continued despite the transfer of the kingdom to David. The two men named Moza are unrelated and belong to different tribes.
