Naamah

Naamah (meaning beautiful; agreeable) is the name of three women in the Old Testament. (1.) The daughter of Lamech and Zillah and sister of Tubal-cain — one of the few women named in the antediluvian genealogy (Gen. 4:22). (2.) An Ammonitess who was a wife of Solomon and mother of Rehoboam, his successor as king of Judah (1 Kgs. 14:21, 31; 2 Chr. 12:13). Her foreign origin illustrates the consequences of Solomon's many marriages to women from nations whose worship the law forbade. (3.) A town in the lowland of Judah (Josh. 15:41), the home of Zophar the Naamathite, one of Job's three friends (Job 2:11).
