Nahshon

Nahshon (also Naasson) was the son of Amminadab and prince of the tribe of Judah during the wilderness period (Ex. 6:23; Num. 1:7). He was the first to bring his offering when the tabernacle was dedicated (Num. 7:12–17). As the brother-in-law of Aaron and the ancestor of Boaz, David, and ultimately Jesus Christ, Nahshon occupies a significant position in the messianic genealogy (Ruth 4:20–22; Matt. 1:4; Luke 3:32). Jewish tradition credits him with extraordinary faith in leading Israel into the Red Sea before the waters parted.
