Name meaning: "standing-place"

Nezib (meaning a standing-place or garrison) was a town in the Shephelah of Judah, listed among the cities of the lowland assigned to Judah (Joshua 15:43). It is identified with Khirbet Beit Nisib, approximately ten miles northwest of Hebron. Beyond its listing in Joshua, no narrative events are connected with it in Scripture.
