Noadiah

Noadiah (meaning witness of the LORD or ornament of the LORD) is the name of two individuals in Ezra and Nehemiah. The first was a Levite, son of Binnui, who assisted in the weighing of the temple silver and gold brought back by Ezra from Babylon (Ezra 8:33). The second — and more significant — was a prophetess who joined Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem in opposing Nehemiah's reconstruction of Jerusalem's walls. Nehemiah's prayer names her specifically: "My God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat... and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear" (Nehemiah 6:14). She is one of only a few women explicitly identified as prophets in the Old Testament.
