Nobah

Nobah (meaning that barks or yelps) was a Manassite warrior who captured the city of Kenath in Bashan and its surrounding villages, renaming it Nobah after himself (Numbers 32:42) — one of the few instances in the Old Testament of a place being renamed after a living person. The town reverted to the name Kenath in later usage. A place called Nobah near Jogbehah east of the Jordan is also mentioned in Gideon's pursuit of the Midianite kings (Judges 8:11), which may refer to this same renamed city.
