Nodab
Person Name
Name meaning: "vowing of his own accord"
Nodab (meaning vowing of his own accord or noble) was an Arab tribe that together with the Hagarites, Jetur, Nephish, and other eastern peoples was defeated by the Transjordanian tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh in a battle enabled by their trust in God (1 Chronicles 5:19). The Nodabites may be connected with the Nubians or an Arabian group in the region east of Gilead. No further details of this tribe are recorded in Scripture.
