Pagiel

Pagiel (meaning: God allots or lot of God) was a prince of the tribe of Asher appointed to assist Moses in the first census of Israel in the wilderness. He is mentioned in Numbers 1:13 as the son of Ocran and appears repeatedly in the early chapters of Numbers representing Asher in the census, in the arrangement of the camp, and in the dedication offerings of the tribal leaders at the tabernacle's consecration.

As Asher's tribal chief during the wilderness period, Pagiel offered the tenth dedication offering at the tabernacle altar (Numbers 7:72). His name, emphasizing divine apportionment, reflects the Israelite conviction that tribal boundaries and leadership were assigned by God rather than by human ambition.
