Parvaim

Parvaim is an unidentified region or country from which Solomon obtained gold for the decoration of the temple in Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 3:6). The verse states that Solomon overlaid the temple with precious stones for beauty, and the gold he used was gold of Parvaim. Beyond this single reference, Parvaim does not appear elsewhere in Scripture.

Proposed identifications have included regions of southern Arabia, eastern Africa (Ophir-related), or even a place in the Far East; none has achieved scholarly consensus. Some have suggested it may be a poetic or archaic term for an exceptionally fine quality of gold rather than a specific geographical location. The context alongside Solomon's broader use of exotic materials — cedar from Lebanon, stones from Hiram's men — suggests a distant and prestigious source, fitting the temple's character as a monument of unparalleled wealth and craftsmanship.
