Phallu (also Pallu, meaning: admirable; hidden) was the second son of Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and the ancestor of the Palluite family of the tribe of Reuben. He is listed among the seventy persons of Jacob's household who came to Egypt (Genesis 46:9) and in the Reubenite clan census of Numbers 26:5. His son Eliab was the father of Dathan and Abiram, who participated in Korah's rebellion against Moses and Aaron and were swallowed by the earth as divine judgment.
