Pirathonite
Person
Pirathonite is the gentilical designation for persons from Pirathon in Ephraim, used of two men in Scripture: Abdon son of Hillel the Pirathonite, the tenth judge of Israel who judged for eight years and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim; and Benaiah the Pirathonite, a soldier in David's army listed among the twelve monthly division commanders and among the thirty mighty men. The latter's leadership of the division for the eleventh month (1 Chronicles 27:14) indicates his military prominence in David's administrative organization.
