Raham
Person Name
Name meaning: "compassion; a friend"
Raham (meaning compassion or a friend) was a son of Shema and a descendant of Caleb in the genealogy of the tribe of Judah (1 Chronicles 2:44). He is listed as the father of Jorkeam, a Judahite clan or settlement. Beyond this single genealogical notice nothing is known of him. The name raham is related to the Hebrew root for womb and compassion (rachamim), which in its plural form is one of the Bible's richest words for divine mercy.
