Recorder

The recorder (mazkir in Hebrew, from zakar, to remember or make mention) was a high official in the royal courts of both David and Solomon, listed alongside the priest and the secretary as one of the principal officers of state (2 Samuel 8:16; 20:24; 1 Kings 4:3). The office appears in the courts of Hezekiah (2 Kings 18:18, 37; Isaiah 36:3, 22) and Josiah (2 Chronicles 34:8). The recorder likely served as a herald or spokesman — one who kept and announced the official records and communications of the court, perhaps functioning as both court historian and royal announcer.
