Remphan

Remphan (also spelled Rephan or Rompha) is the name of a star-deity mentioned in Stephen's speech in Acts 7:43, quoting from the Septuagint version of Amos 5:26: You took up the tent of Moloch and the star of your god Rephan, the images that you made to worship. The Hebrew of Amos 5:26 reads Kiyyun (or Chiun), generally identified with the Akkadian Kayyamanu, a name for the planet Saturn worshipped in Mesopotamia. The Septuagint translators apparently substituted a related astral deity name known in their Egyptian context. Stephen uses the verse to indict Israel's persistent idolatry in the wilderness — worshipping astral deities alongside the LORD.
