Rezon
Person Name
Name meaning: "lean; small; secret; prince"
Rezon (meaning lean, small, secret, or prince) was a fugitive from Hadadezer king of Zobah who gathered a band of men around him, seized Damascus, and established himself as king there after David's defeat of Hadadezer (1 Kings 11:23–25; 2 Samuel 8:3). He became an adversary of Solomon throughout his reign, joining with Hadad the Edomite as instruments of God's judgment against Solomon's apostasy. Rezon is probably the same as the Hezion who founded the dynasty of Damascus, making him the grandfather or ancestor of Ben-hadad I (1 Kings 15:18).
