Rithmah

Rithmah (meaning juniper or noise) was a station in Israel's wilderness journey, listed in Numbers 33:18–19 as the second encampment after Hazeroth. Some identify it with Kadesh-barnea, the major oasis from which the twelve spies were sent to reconnoiter Canaan (Numbers 13:26). The name derives from the juniper or broom tree (rothem), which grows abundantly in the Sinai wilderness and under which Elijah slept in his flight from Jezebel (1 Kings 19:4–5).
