Seba

Seba was the eldest son of Cush (Gen. 10:7; 1 Chr. 1:9) and the eponymous ancestor of a people associated with the upper Nile region, probably in the area of modern Sudan or Ethiopia. The Hebrew geographers placed Seba in the far south of the known world. Isaiah's oracle of restoration speaks of God giving Egypt, Cush, and Seba as a ransom for Israel (Isa. 43:3), and the messianic Psalm 72:10 promises that "the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts" to the Davidic king, expressing the universal scope of his dominion. Seba is to be distinguished from the more prominent Sheba associated with southern Arabia and the Queen of Sheba.
