Sechu

Sechu (or Secu) was a location near Ramah where Saul stopped and inquired of the inhabitants when searching for David and Samuel (1 Sam. 19:22). The account records that Saul came "to a great well that is in Sechu" and asked where Samuel and David were. The site has not been identified with certainty. The place is notable in the narrative because Saul and then his messengers were overcome by prophetic ecstasy when they neared Samuel's encampment, temporarily halting the pursuit of David.
