Secundus

Person

Secundus was a Christian from Thessalonica who accompanied Paul on his return journey from Greece to Asia at the conclusion of the third missionary journey (Acts 20:4). He is listed among a delegation of Gentile representatives — including Sopater, Aristarchus, Gaius, Timothy, Tychicus, and Trophimus — who traveled with Paul, likely as representatives carrying their churches' contribution to the collection for the poor in Jerusalem (cf. 1 Cor. 16:1–4; 2 Cor. 8–9). Nothing further is known of him from the NT or early church sources.
