Seneh

Seneh (meaning "thorny" or "acacia-like") was the name of one of two rocky crags flanking the narrow pass at Michmash, the other being Bozez (1 Sam. 14:4–5). Jonathan and his armor-bearer crossed between these crags to launch their surprise attack on the Philistine garrison at Michmash — a bold initiative Jonathan undertook on the conviction that "nothing can hinder the LORD from saving by many or by few" (1 Sam. 14:6). Their unexpected assault, combined with a divinely sent earthquake, threw the Philistine camp into panic and initiated Israel's rout of the invaders. The crag Seneh faced northward toward Michmash, while Bozez faced south toward Geba.
