Seorim

Person

Seorim was a priest who headed the fourth of the twenty-four divisions established by David for the ordered rotation of temple service (1 Chr. 24:8). David and Zadok the priest organized the Aaronic descendants into twenty-four courses, with each division serving in the temple for a set period. Seorim's descendants would have served in the fourth rotation. The name appears only in this organizational list and is otherwise unknown in Scripture. The name may relate to the Hebrew word for "barley" (se'orim).
