Serah

Serah (also Sarach; meaning possibly "abundance" or "princess") was the daughter of Asher, son of Jacob, and one of the few women named in the tribal genealogies of Israel (Gen. 46:17; Num. 26:46; 1 Chr. 7:30). She is counted among the seventy persons of Jacob's house who went down to Egypt, and she reappears in the Mosaic census lists as the daughter of Asher, ancestor of the clan of the Serahites. Rabbinic tradition accorded Serah a legendary longevity and credited her with informing Jacob that Joseph was still alive and with confirming Moses' identity to the Israelites in Egypt, though these traditions have no scriptural basis.
