Shalem

Shalem appears in Genesis 33:18 in the account of Jacob's return from Paddan-aram: "Jacob came safely (shalem) to the city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan." The Hebrew word shalem can be read as either the name of a city ("the city of Shalem") or as an adverb meaning "safely" or "in peace." Most modern translations adopt the adverbial reading, but if Shalem is a city name it would be a settlement near Shechem. The Septuagint and Peshitta both treat it as a city. At this location Jacob bought a plot of land from the sons of Hamor for a hundred kesitahs and erected an altar called El-Elohe-Israel (Gen. 33:19–20).
