Shapher

Shapher (or Shepher, meaning "beauty" or "pleasantness") was a mountain where the Israelites camped during their wilderness wanderings, listed in the itinerary of Numbers 33:23–24 between Kehelathah and Haradah. It is one of several encampments in the Sinai/wilderness journey whose location cannot be fixed with certainty. Beyond this appearance in the travel list, Shapher plays no role in the biblical narrative and has not been securely identified with an archaeological site.
