Sharaim

Sharaim is a variant form of the name Shaaraim, a city in the Shephelah (lowlands) of Judah (1 Sam. 17:52 KJV; cf. Josh. 15:36 where the same city appears as "Shaaraim"). The name means "two gates." The site is connected with the pursuit of the Philistines after David's defeat of Goliath, when the Israelite army chased the routed enemy toward Gath and Ekron, with the wounded falling "on the way to Shaaraim."
