Sheresh

Sheresh (meaning: root) was a son of Machir and grandson of Manasseh, mentioned in the genealogical record of 1 Chronicles 7:16. His mother was Maachah, the wife of Machir, and his brothers included Peresh. The genealogical information is concise and sparse: only the name, parentage, and a bare reference to his son Ulam and nephew Rakem are supplied in 1 Chronicles 7:16–17.

No narrative events or individual achievements are recorded for Sheresh beyond this genealogical listing. He represents one of many individuals preserved in the Chronicler's tribal genealogies who are otherwise unknown in the biblical narrative.
