Shimeah

Shimeah (meaning: fame or rumour) was a brother of King David, the son of Jesse, also called Shammah (1 Samuel 16:9; 17:13) and Shimma (1 Chronicles 2:13). He appears most dramatically as the father of Jonadab, described as a very subtle (crafty) man who devised the ruse by which Amnon could get Tamar alone — which led to Tamar's rape (2 Samuel 13:3–5). Jonadab later revealed to David that Absalom had killed only Amnon and not all the king's sons (2 Samuel 13:32).

The same man may be referred to in 2 Samuel 21:21 as the father of Jonathan, who killed the Philistine giant of Gath — though the name there is Shimei or Shimeah in variant textual traditions. As a brother of David, Shimeah belongs to the generation of Jesse's sons who were evaluated by Samuel when God directed him to anoint a king from Jesse's household (1 Samuel 16). He is one of the brothers who went to fight with Saul's army at the time of Goliath's challenge.
